UDRI’s Cost Analysis & Metrics researchers rapidly and affordably perform quality analyses by using an empirical, objective, and data-driven assessment of costs, benefits, and risks of technologies. We collect, analyze, and track data to validate, substantiate, or augment cost-benefit decisions.
Our mission is to leverage the capabilities of our team to provide meaningful insights through data-driven story telling. Nearly every business decision involves understanding the relationship between the cost to implement and sustain a decision and the expected value associated with the decision. Understanding the risks and rewards becomes an ever-increasing element of sound business practices.
We employ a structured methodology to logically progress through an analysis. Our team provides an empirical, objective and data-driven assessment of costs, benefits, and risks to produce a cost model which calculates results including Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Benefit-Cost Ratio, and Payback Period. We conduct a sensitivity analysis on all major cost drivers in the analysis to determine their effect on the benefit-cost relationship between alternatives. The cost of risk mitigation is calculated, when necessary, to ascertain the investment required to reduce risk during and after product integration. After analysis, a comprehensive technical report is generated with conclusions and recommendations on the financial viability of the product.
Our team also helps to solve bottlenecks within an organization by collecting, analyzing, and tracking data. We generate ideas for overall process improvement through data analytics. We are responsible for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and have the capability to develop analytics dashboards to display internal and external performance metrics.
Our customers include U.S. government organizations, primarily the U.S. Air Force Rapid Sustainment Office (RSO). The team also works with a variety of customers across industries to conduct cost analysis and other services.
