Why and how do materials fail?
UDRI’s material characterization experts provide custom, application driven testing and characterization for both US government and industrial partners. Our team has been at the forefront of developing advanced testing capabilities to help solve current application driven challenges.
With nearly 60 years of combined expertise, our research team has designed and implemented custom testing equipment and protocols across a wide range of material families—including metals, ceramics, polymers, and beyond. Our laboratories house more than 25 MTS load frames, many of which have been modified to meet application-specific requirements. By working closely with vendors, our researchers continually advance testing capabilities, ensuring rapid and reliable material characterization.
Our customers include the US government organizations, primarily the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), as well as aerospace equipment manufacturers.
