Douglas C. Hansen

Dr. Hansen is a Distinguished Research Scientist in UDRI's Coatings, Corrosion and Erosion Group and has over 30 years experience in the field of corrosion electrochemistry, primarily in the development of environmentally friendly coatings and corrosion inhibitors, in both academic and national laboratory environments.

Dr. Hansen is the author of over 60 publications, 3 patents, and has given more than 100 presentations and invited lectures on topics including naturally-occurring polymers and compounds as corrosion inhibitors and coatings, scanning probe measurements of coatings and biomolecules, electrochemical surface characterization and imaging techniques, and characterization of genomic molecules (DNA) using electrochemical techniques.
