Dr. Tandon has over 25 years experience in mechanics of advanced composite materials and has conducted extensive research on polymer and ceramic matrix composites for high temperature structural applications. His analytical and experimental studies are directed towards providing a basic understanding of the properties and performance of advanced composite materials as well as providing guidance towards efficient design.
In addition, Dr. Tandon leads UDRI's Advanced Composites Group, which conducts cutting edge material-based research and development. In this position he performs research, development, and testing on a number of projects. Dr. Tandon is the principle investigator at UDRI for the task Responsive Multifunctional Composite and Hybrid Material Systems under Composite, Hybrid, and Thermally Engineered Materials (CHATEM).
