Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Distinguished Battery Scientist, leads the Solid-State Battery and Integrated Systems (S2BIS) team in UDRI's Energy and Environmental Sciences group. He has authored over 35 research publications and a book chapter (solid-state rechargeable lithium-oxygen batteries), holds 5 patents, and has over 11 years of solid-state battery research experience.
Dr. Kumar teaches part-time graduate faculty in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Dayton and supervises master and Ph.D.-level research related to solid-state battery and hybrid power systems. He currently supervises four Ph.D. students in Electrical Engineering who are conducting research in the field of energy storage.
Dr. Kumar joined the university in 2007 after obtaining his Ph.D. in Chemistry (polymer solar cells and data storage devices) that same year from the University of Delhi, India.
